As I wrote Finding Me, my eyes were open to the truth of how our stories are often not given close examination. We are forced to reinvent them to fit into a crazy, competitive, judgmental world. So I wrote this for anyone running through life untethered, desperate and clawing their way through murky memories, trying to get to some form of self-love. For anyone who needs reminding that a life worth living can only be born from radical honesty and the courage to shed facades and be . . . you.
Finding Me is a deep reflection, a promise, and a love letter of sorts to self. My hope is that my story will inspire you to light up your own life with creative expression and rediscover who you were before the world put a label on you.

Great book even better narration!
This was my first audio book and I’m very satisfied with my choice. I knew some of Viola Davis’ work but didn’t know anything about her personal life. It’s a great story about a human surviving and thriving. At multiple points I had tears in my eyes.

Brutal intimate and amazing read
Greatly read by the author, her story is amazing and captivating and it puts your own life in perspective

Strong lady, sadly good story
I discovered Viola Davis through How to get away with murder. I probably saw her in other performances but it was only in the series that it strike me how good she was! She has a very nice strong voice. While she talks about her life and family, with a very exquisite choice of words, I could only feel big respect for what she endured, how she grew out of it still standing and strong. If there is something to take out of her sharing her story, is that one can go through many rough patches in life, it may seem as it will never end, but still one can decide how to react and go on on living: with hatred and negativity, or with the optimism of a fighter

An absolute must.
Just don’t miss out on hearing this book by the author, about the truth with no holes barred , about her life. It is so honest and it is harrowing but you will learn from it.

The rawness
