Description

The day I lost my best friend was the day I realized that I'd been living in the past. I've tried to find a way to heal, to mend that break. Somehow, I came through it partially whole. But I know I couldn't have done that without Aiden Connolly.

The problem is, he once loved my best friend. And now she's gone, and I refuse to be in that shadow, or worse, a replacement for someone we both loved.

I left them all behind.

My brother.

My family.

My best friend.

And her.

Only Sienna Knight doesn't realize what she means to me. But before I can make sure she knows, I need to figure out exactly what that is.

Sienna and Aiden

Fractured Connections is a series which has me hooked, this book the third book in this series was every bit as good as the first two. You could, I suppose, read or listen to it as a standalone story but you will get so much more from it if you have listened to these books in order. After their friend Allison commits suicide a group of friends who had drifted apart is brought back together by this tragic event. Each book focuses on one couple although all of the characters are in all of the books.

This book is Aiden and Sienna's story and as with the preceding books, you find out what makes Sienna and Aiden who they are. Sienna has loved Aiden for years but she hasn't admitted to herself that what she feels is love nor has ever done anything about it because he and Allison fell in love. Now even though Alison is gone she still feels guilty about loving him. As for Aiden well, he's attracted to Sienna but he too has his issues.

Aiden is an angry man, he's angry at his mother for being a junkie and making his early childhood hell, he's angry with Alison for committing suicide and not asking for help from anybody in her group of close friends but most of all he's angry with himself for not saving Alison even though they were no longer together. But when Sienna is hurt and he wasn't there to save her his anger leads to him injuring himself.

During this moving tale, old secrets will be revealed, old loves will be admitted to all leading to a better understanding of what makes them both tick. This is an emotional roller coaster of a read which had me both laughing and crying by turns. Their story contains some pretty heavy stuff and the journey they both take to achieve their HEA is not an easy one.

I read this book before listening to the audio version and although I enjoyed the book I feel that you can get so much more from the story when listening to it, especially when the narration is as good as it is for this one. Maxine Mitchell and Joe Arden have done another incredible job with this book, I was never in any doubt about who was speaking, all the characters are distinct. Together with Carrie Ann Ryan, they have with this book and all the books in this series achieved something special.

I was given this audiobook as a gift and am voluntarily writing my review.

Aiden and Sienna...

It’s amazing how one person can affect a group of people. Whether you love them or hate them. Sienna has been forever crushing on her BFs ex Aiden. He has something for her too but someone is on the way. The way their relationship develops is slow burning and I loved it. There’s drama of course, some very bruising drama but shock therapy is a great way to make them realize what they mean to each other. The friendship in this series is what I wish I had in real life. Very heart felt book and some funny banter too.
Joe and Maxine do a great job with the narration. ⭐️

I LOVED IT!!

This was amazing!!!

It was everything I was waiting for and then some. I fell in LOVE with Aiden and Sienna in book 1 of this series. The back and forth they had was so adorable and reminded me of how my hubby and I can be sometimes. It was cute but you could see they liked each other and they had a connection they were both fighting.

It was an amazing love story. I was so in love that I finished it in one day. Well, one morning into afternoon it was so good!!! I can't wait for the next one with Beckham EKK!

Sienna and Aiden💕💕💕

Once again Carrie Ann Ryan brings the reader/listener into her world. Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell bring the love, joy and angst to Carrie Ann's words.

3.5 ⭐️s -Strong Performances despite an uneven plot

Characters were solid. I enjoyed the relationship between Aiden and Sienna, which was bolstered significantly by the narrators’ performances. Joe Arden 🐓 and Maxine Mitchell 💎 are always a strong duo, and that is no different here. Their delivery is excellent and adds that extra layer to the H and h. I also enjoyed the secondary characters and the strong family and found-family connections.

However, the story itself was a bit uneven. The conflict elements were coming from too many places and so none of them are given room enough to effectively develop. It would have been stronger to keep the conflict centralized to one element rather than paying what is ultimately just lip service to multiple disturbances. Still, Ryan is solid at character portrayal and any plot weaknesses here will not keep me from exploring her work further.

There was a minor error in the recording itself; chapter 17 plays twice.

Overall this was a solid listen; however unless you’re a devout follower of the series, I recommend to borrow through the library, see if it goes into AE, or wait for a really good sale.

emotional

Would I listen to it again: yes
Did the story keep me engaged: yes
Was I invested in the characters: yes
What did I like about the story? good pace, the characters have good depth and the story has plenty of emotion. Neither Aiden nor Sienna's are good at communication so they're not off to a good start - they are both stubborn and independent and it was interesting watching them learn each other and build a relationship.

Maxine Mitchell and Joe Arden have done a great job bringing "Falling with You" to life. I had no problem distinguishing characters, their voices and personalities come through and I felt the emotion and chemistry between the characters making for an enjoyable audio experience.

sienna finally grows up to face reality

Such a mish mash of mixed emotions finally get sorted out with time, healing, and help. Both main characters had so much unresolved baggage. I think Aiden had a lot more, imo. Sienna gets one heck of a wake up call to help her see what's right in front of her and what's truly important. Priorities girl!!! Sorry, but I think she needed something to jolt her into reality and make her readjust her priorities. I'm all for the school of hard knocks. The duet narration was good, but I prefer dual as the females are rarely able to pull off the male parts, imo. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this story and am giving an honest review.

Love Love Love this one!

OMGosh! I just love these stories. They are filled with heartache but also have love and devotion. I really enjoy going through the gambit with them. This one is Sierra and Aidens story.

Sierra has been struggling like her girlfriends over Alison. But I almost feel this one is more tough. Since she has like/loved Aiden since HS. She has this amazing love of kittens/cats. Like in she can’t resist them. She has adorable names and they all have quirks. I Loved it! Almost but not as much as Listening to Aiden talking about Diego and his cuteness cracked me up! Then waking to the cat sleeping on him?! So funny! I was walking around with a huge grin on my face.

This also includes the great secondary characters of Aidens brothers. I really can’t get enough of them! They are funny and charismatic when all together. I am not discounting Sierra’s girls but the brothers really make this for me.

I have listened to this on audio. Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell narrated this one. They do a great job!

Friends to Lovers

You never think that a tragedy will bring you pure happiness until you realize that it's been right before your eyes the whole time. When you lose the one person who held you together you never think you can find another person quite like them.
