Description
Edie Wecker returned to her hometown of Shadows Landing after her husband was killed in action. The small town of Shadows Landing had become like family, helping her put the pieces of her life back together. Agreeing to take a trip to Europe was the final piece as she set out to reclaim her life. What Edie didn’t count on was meeting someone who made her heart beat again.
Tristan Durand is only sent in to do the deadliest of work for his small European country of Millevia, and this time he’s told it’s the most important assignment of his career. Tristan had a contingency plan for everything, except meeting a beautiful woman at a café that would not only change his entire life but now possibly end it.
Edie thought she’d never see Tristan again after their one-night stand in Europe, only to return from her trip to find him living next to her in Shadows Landing. Now Edie has to face the trauma of her past when Tristan’s life is in danger. Tristan might be a trained killer, but Edie will do anything to save the man she loves for their chance at a future together.

Shadows Landing
I have read all of the Shadows Landing books and this one did not disappoint. Not only do we meet some new characters including Tristan but all the prior characters are here as well.
We learn more about Edie and see her begin to blossom again. The beginning of the book had me in tears as she was at her husbands grave. We did learn more of Tristan as the book progressed but I did feel the author could have been more in depth on his character.
There are scenarios that are not realistic and there are scenes of real life and emotions. But that is the beauty of these books! They are funny, emotional, have action and are just plain fun! It would be a hoot to live in a town like this!
I really like Eric Dove’s narration! It works for me. This book may not be for everyone but I sure enjoyed it!

Recommended
Another excellent adventure. Edie has been through so much and we have watched her journey for sometime now. It is especially good to see her happy again. Tristan is perfect for her. Looking forward to Granger & Olivia's journey.

Gator Love!
Shadows Landing is always a fun place to be! you never know who is going to pop up in town or what you will catch the gators doing! I always love how the new characters to the town react to it all, and I love how the Keeneston family fitsright in!

Another great Shadows Landing story
I have been waiting for Edie to find a HEA! Trisston is great! Kathleen Brooks has a wonderful story telling ability! Totally recommend this story and the entire Shadows Landing series…and don’t miss the Keeneston series either!

loved it!!! all of Kathleen Brooks books are amazing !! and I love how you could read it as a stand alone but if you've read her other books you get to see how everyone is doing after they're books. by far my all time favorite author

another awesome Kathleen Brooks book
she has done it again. loved the new characters and locations introduced in the book. Eric Dove has a beautiful voice for narrating. The love story between Edie and Tristan was precious. thank you Kathleen for another beautiful story.

Love conquers all
Edie and Tristan's story is one to definitely enjoy in the Shadows Landing series. The overcoming of grief from loss is a hard thing, but the progression of healing of Edie"s heart is perfect. The desire to go forward, the asking for signs, the ability to love again is really touching in this story. A bit of a tear=jerker, but well written nonetheless.
Tristan couldn't be a better match for Edie. Honest, respectful, strong, and romantic. Totally swoon worthy. I can only gather it would be hard to create a character like this one. Really, an assassin with a heart... genius!
While this book can be read as a standalone, it does flow better if read in succession because the once small and once quirky town of Shadows Landing is growing and merging with another small town.... Keeneston, KY from another series by the same author... the Bluegrass Brothers and Forever Bluegrass series. let's just say that every book from Ms. Brooks will habe you laughing, crying, cheering and swooning... you will always be in for a great escape through reading her books. Solid 5 stars!!

Wow
A great story about our friends from Shadows Landing. This is Edie’s story you will laugh, cry and still be trying to find out who is the bad guy. You don’t want to miss this one. Edie is finding her way out of the grief she’s had for her lost husband. See truly deserves a happily ever after.
