Ivy Greene’s illusion of innocence makes for a standing ovation performance. With her sense of entitlement, believing she is far superior to other people, she plunders through life making excuses for her misguided behaviors along the way. Her mother emotionally cripples her with unrealistic standards of perfection, harsh criticism, inconsistency, and demands for compliance and unreasonable gratitude.
As a young adult, Ivy punishes her former classmate, Trace, for not returning her affection by falsely accusing him of a crime. She basks in the attention that wreaks havoc in his life, making suspicious co-workers, friends, and even some family members view him with disdain. While Ivy delights in the power of her revenge, her accusation triggers, more devastation and irreparable damage than Trace imagined possible. To make matters worse, Trace is horrified when he discovers that Ivy’s obsession with him will never die.
