Deprimierende Geschichte
Wie traurig! Die Geschichte über eine halbchinesische Familie in Amerika hat mich deprimiert, mit dieser Minderheit in den USA und den Vorurteilen, mit denen sie kämpfen musste, habe ich mich noch nie beschäftigt. Ich habe zwar trotz Längen weiter gehört, aber es hat mich in eine seltsame Stimmung versetzt. Dabei ist die Sprache und die Entwicklung der Ereignisse mit vielen Rückblenden ganz gut konstruiert.
Langsam wird klar, warum Laura einfach nicht in dieses Leben passte - aber der Schluss ist dann doch überraschend, und für mich lässt er zu viele Fragen offen.
