    The premise of the book (a functional introvert loner) didn't last long. Yet the entire book is well built and the reader does a wonderful job making all of the characters evolve and be loveable. I am not a native English speaker, but appreciated the different accents and tones used by the reader.

    It is as heart wrenching as it is heart warming. I loved the character of Eleanor. I would have happily liked an additional chapter though.

    Loved the narration and loved the wry sense of humour employed throughout. Didn’t think this was my kind of novel but I was very pleasantly surprised. Recommended!

    The story rings true at a deep level, and all the characters easily come to life. What I enjoyed most was the quality of the language; the narrator's quirks are endearing and make the whole experience joyful in spite of the dark subject matter.

    Very much enjoyed this beautifully written and thought provoking book. Part of the pleasure was thanks to the narrators superb adaptation of the characters voices, bringing them more to life than I would have done reading the book myself.
    Didn’t want it to end.
    Feel richer for having “read” this story.

    Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys a different type of novel that builds and slowly gives you insights into the main character. Fabulous !
