Avis de l'équipe

Baker extraordinaire and proprietor of the Earthy Delights Bakery, Corinna Chapman is a firm proponent of eating well, so it's no surprise that she is perturbed, to say the least, by her two assistants' extreme herbal tea diet and the appearance of a strange cult that considers eating a sinful indulgence. Things become even more complicated when someone is found in the park almost dead from malnutrition and her hippie mother turns up in a panic, claiming that Corinna's father has disappeared. Narrator Louise Siversen's performance is as rich and satisfying as Corinna's cakes, and she gives the amateur sleuth a voice full of character and intelligence. Listeners will find themselves relishing the pleasures of this delicious mystery.

Commentaires

"This new series has some of the hallmarks of author Kerry Greenwood's other long running series – the Phryne Fisher mysteries: mystery (of course), good food, gorgeous young men and a sassy central female character ... A delicious offering." (aussiereviews.com)
"Devil's Food is a charming surprise by the author of the Phryne Fisher historical mystery series. Corinna Chapman interrupts her baking business to help her estranged mother, Sunshine, find Sunlight, her old hippie father. Narrator Louise Siversen captures the delightful sense of community with a diverse array of characters, including nuns, monks, and street people. She also delivers Aussie and Eastern European accents. As Corrina and her sexy Israeli boyfriend, Daniel, search for her father, she shares baking secrets and unique views on morality and politics, including several hilarious anti-Bush remarks. An afterword encourages email comments and recipe exchanges. It's all good fun for mystery buffs and bakers." (AudioFile Magazine)
