A dismembered body with no head, hands, or feet turns up in a suitcase at New Street Station. The only witness to the suitcase being deposited is a young runaway, Katy, who relies on selling the Big Issue to survive. Some of the female sellers are, themselves, running scared, and Katy sees more than is safe for her.
DCI Allison and Sergeant Mark Stringer are on the case. As usual, they have too much to do and not enough officers. Little do they know that this investigation will uncover a criminal gang involved in something much bigger, or that The Chameleon, now MRF officer Alex Wallace, will be helping Mark again.
