    Qu'est-ce qui a rendu l'écoute de David Copperfield agréable ?

    A fantastic story really brought to life by Martin Jarvis' excellent reading. Every character was different and brilliant - especially the awful Uriah Heep!

    This novel is a rather autobiographical account of Dickens’s life from the cradle to maturity. And the fact is that Mr Charles had a tough youth and a boring, yet successful, adult life. This boredom is well described by the book and the boring account goes on for hours and hours. And hours. And not much happens.
    The first few years are beautifully narrated and are on a par with Oliver Twist, Dickens’s true masterpiece. But the adult life is a mere description of two dozen well depicted characters. The audiobook is saved by Martin Jarvis’s fantastic reading, or should I say “acting”. Each character is brought to life with a different voice. Social differences are well rendered. But If you have not yet discovered his version of Oliver Twist, lucky you! Don’t miss it. The reading is as outstanding but the book is so much better...
