The first time I met Hudson Rothschild was at a wedding. I’d received an unexpected invitation to one of the swankiest venues in the city. Hudson was a groomsman and quite possibly the most gorgeous man I’d ever laid eyes on. He asked me to dance, and our chemistry was off the charts. I knew it wasn’t a good idea to get involved with him, considering the wedding I was at. But our connection was intense, and I was having a great time. Though the fun came to a screeching halt when Hudson figured out I wasn’t who I’d said I was.

I can’t believe I have to go home to Nebraska for my sister’s wedding. I’m gonna need a wingman and a whole lot of vodka for this level of family interaction. At least my bestie agreed he’d man up and help. Too bad he had to catch a different flight than me. Then, his plane got delayed. Description
"[A] catchy premise with surprising wisdom and specificity." (New York Times Book Review on The Bromance Book Club)
A LibraryReads Hall of Fame Title
A hacktivist and a cat café owner decode the friend zone in this romantic comedy from the author of Undercover Bromance.
Alexis Carlisle and her cat café, ToeBeans, have shot to fame after she came forward as a victim of a celebrity chef’s sexual harassment. When a new customer approaches to confide in her, the last thing Alexis expects is for the woman to claim they’re sisters. Unsure what to do, Alexis turns to the only man she trusts - her best friend, Noah Logan.
Computer genius Noah left his rebellious teenage hacker past behind to become a computer security expert. Now he only uses his old skills for the right cause. But Noah’s got a secret: He’s madly in love with Alexis. When she asks for his help, he wonders if the timing will ever be right to confess his crush.
Noah’s pals in The Bromance Book Club are more than willing to share their beloved “manuals” to help him go from bud to boyfriend. But he must decide if telling the truth is worth risking the best friendship he’s ever had.

Not a fun light read
This book covers some seriously heavy topics like child abandonment, living with ptsd from sexual harassment and abuse, parental cheating, giving a kidney to stranger who is a terrible person and that’s just the main character! The male lead is dealing with a host of his own issues, equally as dark. This was marketed as a light, fun read and listed under comedy. IT IS VERY SAD AND EMOTIONAL. And not funny at all. If you are looking for a good cry, a book about two people going through really dark stuff, this would be a great book. But not the book if you are looking for something uplifting and fun to take you out of your own issues for a bit. Nothing against the story, writer or reader. Just very heavy for a romance. I can’t finished it because it’s so sad thinking about all these characters are forced to endure and knowing from real life experiences how horrific just one of the issues alone can be, much less the multitude piled on these poor people.

Good, but not as good as others in the series.
Narration was excellent. Story left too many unanswered questions for me and dissatisfied with the cohesion of the plot.

Just okay...
I have been so in love with all the other books in this series, I had high hopes. It is a sweet story, it just isn't as grabby as the others.
The other stories in the series were much more intertwined with the books the club was reading. In this one there was barely any mention of the book they were reading. Otherwise, the story is good and the characters are as well.
Performance was splendid as usual. Give it a go, but it will be enjoyed more so if you haven't listened to any of the previous books.

Loved this book!
I loved how these two peoples lives grew stronger through their issues. Each one had some major issues that worked out best when they were together. I am so happy she helped her father, even after the fact that he abandoned her for years and only came back when he needed her to save his life. Her helping other survivors of the abuse she was put through from her old boss, showed how strong of a person she is. This is a great book.

Obsessed!!! A galaxy of stars!
I CANNOT GET ENOUGH OF THIS SERIES!! This being said I'm completely thrilled with this story and can not wait for book 4, with The Russian, as the hero. Andrew Eiden delivers and then some! It's a solid combination of a well developed storyline that is engaging and emotional with a performance that is consistently nuanced, joyful and well crafted. This series is a must listen!!!

More than a steamy romance
Alexis Carlisle had no intention of becoming famous when she reported her former boss, the celebrity chef, for sexual harassment at his bar and restaurant, but even a year and half later, people remember her for it. She has since opened her own café where she serves coffee and pastries with a good touch of listening. Other survivors of assault have naturally gravitated toward her place. She also brings her large cat BeefCake to the café daily, where she sometimes hosts cat adoption events.
Noah Logan, a computer security expert, is best friends with Alexis. He would like to be much more but won’t admit that out loud, until one of his clients goads him on. That client is planning his own wedding and is a member of the Bromance Book Club, a group of rather high-profile men in Nashville, Tennessee who have joined forces to help each other save their marriages and relationships. In turn, they have helped other men by reading romance novels and treating them as manuals.
Lately a shy woman named Candy has been coming to the café, and Alexis thinks she’s about to reveal her assault story when Candy blurts out that they are sisters. Alexis never knew her father, and her mother recently died, but she’d taken a DNA test on an ancestry site and made it public for possible matching. Candy put the pieces together and tracked her down. However, her motives are tied to the fact that their father needs a kidney transplant. Candy pressures Alexis into beginning the testing to see if she is a match and brings her home to the family Alexis never knew. The problem is that no one there knows about Alexis’s existence, so Candy has a lot of explaining to do.
Returning home from a trip that has left her raw and exposed, Alexis turns to Logan for support. The walls of their friendship begin to melt and their romantic feelings show. And then Logan puts on the brakes. He is cautious but Alexis feels rejected by Logan and by her father. The guys gather round to help Noah, and their women gather round Alexis, and a scheme is hatched.
What follows is steamy and romantic and touching. Alexis must sort out her feelings toward Noah and then about her father. Is he really interested in a relationship or just her kidney? Does Alexis want to take on an entire new family? Noah has his own demons to wrestle with his father’s death omnipresent in his life.
While I loved the romance in this book, I also loved how the author dealt with the very real dilemma over families of origin and what happens when they are revealed as well as the consequences of parental loss. Interspersed with the serious issues are moments of a terrific sense of humor as well. Narrator Andrew Eiden was fabulous, balancing his intensity with the narrative, bringing the listener along with him in this heartwarming contemporary story of friendship, family, and love.

Disapointing
As a person from a country that is usually misrepresented, I'm offended on behalf of Russian people. I'm not sure if it was this book or the one before, since I listen to them one after the other, but the radioactive needle joke was just rude. I already bought the pre sale of the next book (did that after I listen to the first book that was actually nice), and I really hope I dont feel like throwing my phone across the room angry about xenophobic jokes. As for the characters in this book, they were also quite disappointing. It was like reading teenage/ YA drama. "Oh I'm so stupid, why did i act so impulsively?" and doing just that 5 minutes later. It wasn't as funny as the first book and the fact she turned the foreigner character in a misrepresented buffoon really offended me, The Performance was really nice though.

Such a sweet story
This is another amazing part of the Bromance Book Club series. The author can give just the right amount of drama sweetness, romance and laughs.
The narrator does another great job of bringing those characters to life, however, it pains me that the powerful female characters weren’t narrated by a woman. Again, A drew did an awesome job, but when it comes to women taking the power back, it pains me that a female narrator wasn’t involved in this series.
