Narrated by the author, Dr. Paul Christiansen DVM, Cowboy Medicine is a collection of interesting and challenging stories of the author's journey into veterinary practice, the interactions with different species, and the interesting people charged with their care.
Raised on a ranch in Montana, Dr. Christiansen's passion was animal health. After obtaining a degree in veterinary medicine from Washington State University, his practice career spanned 31 years at Kamloops Veterinary Clinic. Cowboy Medicine tells the stories and experiences of a mixed animal veterinary practitioner working in the ranching country in the grasslands of central British Columbia. Although cattle and horses were his main interest, time was also spent looking after dogs, cats, and other species in his main hospital and outpatient clinics.
