Description

In Contract Law, we examine the black letter rules of contract law most commonly tested on the MBE and in law school. By combining a simple approach to legal learning with the innovative appeal of an audio study aid, Contract Law provides you with a concise overview of the subject matter in a way that makes it easy to learn, understand, and memorize. Contract Law also includes numerous hypothetical examples and analyses to help you apply the rules of law to any given fact patterns.

Key topics include:

  • Applicable law (common law versus UCC)
  • Contract formation (offer and acceptance, consideration, modification)
  • Offers (advertisements, termination of offers, irrevocable offers)
  • The mailbox rule
  • Statute of frauds
  • Defenses to contract formation (illegality, lack of capacity, duress, unconscionability, misrepresentation, mistake)
  • Parol evidence rule
  • Warranties
  • Material breach rule under the common law
  • Perfect tender rule under the UCC
  • Anticipatory repudiation
  • Discharge of duties (rescission, release, accord and satisfaction)
  • Third party involvement (third party beneficiaries, assignments, delegation, novation)
  • Breach of contract remedies (damages, specific performance)
  • Bonus examples

Sound concise contracts review

Rafi Nemes does a good job reviewing contract law concisely. His diction is clear and measured. It is even keeled and well paced, not too fast nor too slow. A brief review cannot touch on all legal nuances, but the content of the course appears to be sound. The transition between ideas is direct and fairly smooth. This review is briefer than other audio products available. I used it for CLE (continuing legal ed), though it is designed for law students and bar review. I recommend this item for students, lawyers, and anyone interested in learning about the common law of contracts in the U.S.

PLEASE! label the chapters!

the content is great but please add some kind of guide to print or LABEL THE CHAPTER TITLES for audible or both! I was hoping to use this as a supplement to my class to get extra info in the car on the way from work to school but without chapter titles, I don't have the time to scroll through.

Please ask Rafi to do more subject areas.

He is clearly a gifted lawyer who understands the concepts . His outlines are quickly distinguishable from the other law outlines on audible by people who are merely reading words on a page, mispronouncing the words and unable to convey the meaning. Rafi ought to do evidence wills and trusts and family law.

Very helpful

Currently studying for the bar and I'm finding this book super useful. The author breaks down the black letter law and gives examples. There are questions and answers at the end. Though the questions are not necessarily in mbe format the process helped me revisit certain concepts.

INCOMPLETE Outline

There are 38 substantive chapters with a test at the end. The substantive chapters are very good, but incomplete. This is demonstrated by no less than three or four of the remaining questions having answers that are not covered by the substantive portion. This is a good primer, but do not rely on this as a complete outline of contracts law because it's not.
