This book. THIS FREAKING BOOK. I thought I couldn’t love 𝘊𝘢𝘶𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘜𝘱 as much as 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘙𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘔𝘰𝘷𝘦, but boy, was I wrong.
The flirty banter between Miller and Kai? Chef’s kiss. Their chemistry was electric, but the found family element? That was the real heart-melter. And the YEARNING?? I was done for. These characters stole my heart, and I never wanted to leave this little bubble with them.
Kai is just… everything. An amazing man, an even better dad, and now officially at the top of my romance book boyfriend list. I don’t see how anyone can top him. It just seems quite impossible.
The heartfelt conversations throughout this book were so beautiful, whether it was between Miller & Kai, Miller & her dad, or even Kai & Miller’s dad. And don’t even get me started on THAT LOVE CONFESSION. One of the best I’ve read in a long time. You guessed it, I was SOBBING.
The final chapters shattered me. I KNEW what was coming, but it still felt like someone ripped my heart out and stomped all over it. This book broke me and put me back together in the best way possible. I wished I filmed my reactions!
Each book in this series keeps getting better and better, and I CANNOT wait to read the next one! Also, I need Rio’s story at some point, he deserves happiness.
Oh and State of Grace by Taylor Swift is Kai & Miller’s song, you can’t convince me otherwise.
