    Great Character's...Great World...No Story

    Only David Weber story in my collection that doesn't have 5 stars (and I have them all). I love his writing and thoroughly enjoy the world that he has created in Safehold. Unfortunately, I agree with everyone else that this book didn't exactly progress very much (at least from an action stand point).

    There is plenty of character development in this book but it is all political. I can see why some of the reviews were a little poor as a result. It lacks on the intense battles that are generally a staple of Weber. I still enjoyed the book and I can't wait for the next one. This felt a little like a set up book...

    Great Book and Very long

    What made the experience of listening to By Schism Rent Asunder the most enjoyable?

    many unexpexted twists and turns and it made me laugh out loud

    Have you listened to any of Oliver Wyman’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

    yes, he is a very good narator, sometimes it is difficult to seperate voices

    Long but worthwhile

    This is the second book in the safe hold series and it's by far the better of the two so far. The story is a long build up but the pay offs are worth it. The author does go a bit overboard (pun intended) when describing ship battles. He goes into extreme detail about everything about them. If you're a fan of Scifi then I'm sure you will enjoy this. However! be aware that Oliver Wyman doesnt do the narration for book 3 so it may be a drastic change.

    Great series

    A tad slow, but still excellent

    This second book in the series is a tad slow in terms of pacing. It's well written though and is clearly laying the groundwork for things that will come later. If you liked the first book, then I think you will enjoy this.

    A Must for Weber Fans

    Excellent narrator; story was superb and kept your attention. I'll continue to recommend this series by David Weber.

    Best series yet

    Love this series! brings me back to being a kid and sparks my imagination and wonder! I get a thrill with every new invention and my wonder is restored.

    Back to future

    This book was as good as the first one, a fine presentation of all the different characters, perfectly displayed of a great voice. The idea of beginning in the future, going seemingly backwards, to beginn or continue the story of a future we are being jammed into like a rocket on full thrust, never stops enjoying me! Thank you David Weber, for your imagination and your capability of sharing it with us merely mortals. Greetings, Bernard Hodneland
