Police Officer, Jabari Miller, finds himself at the center of a citywide storm after being involved in the shooting of an unarmed teenager. As protests and civil unrest sweep through Durham, North Carolina, Jabari faces intense public scrutiny and a high-stakes trial that weighs heavily on his mind.
To gain clarity before his upcoming testimony, Jabari retreats to the Appalachian Trail, hoping the solitude of the mountains will help him reflect and regain his strength. There, he crosses paths with Simone Morton, a fellow Durham resident facing her own dilemma. As the two journey through the wilderness, a romantic and friendly bond forms, proving to be just the healing he was searching for.
