Shadow Moon has been on the road a while now but he can't walk any further tonight, not with the rain lashing down. Gratefully, he heads home with a nice English couple, who offer a box room, hot whisky and local tales.

I really like the way Neil Gaiman writes short stories; he always manages to concentrate in them all the richness we find in his novels. Black Dog follows on from American Gods, and the author seems to enjoy returning to this universe. It's still about myths and legends, with the character of Shadow trying, as best he can, to find his way around. Mystery and suspense guaranteed. The party is complete with a beautiful cover illustration and Neil Gaiman's voice to carry it all.
