కాశీ మజిలీ కథలు అన్న పేరు వినని తెలుగు వాడు ఉండడేమో. 1934లో మొట్టమొదట సారి ప్రచురించబడ్డ కాశీ మజిలీ కథలను మధిర సుబ్బన్న దీక్షితకవి రచించారు. కాశీమజిలీ కథలు విస్తృతమైన ప్రజాదరణ, పాఠకాసక్తిని సాధించి తెలుగు సాహిత్యంలో చిరస్థాయిగా నిలిచిపోయాయి. మోక్షభూమిగా పేరుపొందిన కాశీ పట్టణం వెళ్ళేందుకు మణిసిద్ధుడు అనే విద్యావంతుడైన బ్రాహ్మణ బ్రహ్మచారి సంకల్పించుకుంటాడు. వాహన సదుపాయాలు లేకపోవడం, నదులు, కొండల వల్ల మార్గం దుర్గమంగా ఉండడంతో ఎవరైనా తోడు వస్తే బాగుంటుందని భావిస్తాడు. ఎందరినో అడిగినా వారు భయపడి రాలేదు. చివరికి శ్రీరంగపురం ఊరి శివార్లలో జీవించే అనాథయైన పశువుల కాపరి మాత్రం బయలుదేరాడు. ఆ గోపాలకుడు, మణిసిద్ధుడు కాశీకి మజిలీలు చేసుకుంటూ బయలుదేరడం ప్రధాన కథ కాగా ఆపైన ఎన్నెన్నో ఉపకథలు, గొలుసుకట్టు కథలు ఉంటాయి. మార్గమధ్యంలో తనకు వింత వింత కథలు చెప్పి అలసట పోగొట్టి ఆహ్లాదం కలిగిస్తే వస్తానని గోపాలుడు పెట్టిన షరతుకు ఫలితమే ఆ కథలు. ఇది ఈ కథలకు ఇతివృత్తం. భోజుని కధ ఆరవ భాగం.

It's hard to find a Telugu person who has never heard the chronicles of Kasi Majili Kathalu. Published in 1934, Kasi Majili Kathalu were written by Madhira Subbanna Dikshitakavi. The stories later received enormous popularity and became timeless classics in Telugu literature. It begins with Manisuddudu, a brahman scholar, resolving to go to the divine city of Kasi. Lacking a means of transportation and a proper route to travel across hilly terrains and rivers, he thought it would do good if he has company. No one agrees to come along with him due to fear. In the end, a lone cattle-herder in the outskirts of Srirangapuram accepts to give company. As they journey to Kasi, they halt and take respite (Majili) in various places. And thus the chronicles of their journey to Kasi progresses through many parables, sub-stories, digressions, legends and so on. Bhojuni Kadha is the sixth part in the series.
