Description
DI Nick Dixon is on the hunt for a vicious serial killer, following a trail of fingerprints and DNA across west Somerset.
When the body of a young woman is found on the building site of a nuclear power station, work grinds to a halt. The body bears all the hallmarks of yet another random murder at the hands of the escaped killer. Then Dixon finds a motive.
Fighting for his place on the Major Investigation Team, he soon uncovers a family’s desperate search for the truth, exposing a web of corruption and death that will shake the billion-pound construction project to its very foundations. But who can be trusted when so much money is at stake?
Can Dixon find the killer under intense pressure from the top of government? And, can he do it before anyone else has to die?

Where's Napoleon Ryan??
I have really enjoyed this series, but the change of narrator is extremely disappointing.
He's a fine narrator, but after the whole series being done by Napoleon Ryan, it's a big let down.
I hope we can get a version of this book narrated by him in the near future.

Disappointed
I’ve enjoyed the preceding book narrations as five stars. What makes them appealing is their uniquely English aspects. This attempt to make the series more acceptable to an American audience is a flop. A pale imitation of what made the narration of the series great. Fire the US distributor and revert to the UK English narration and vocabulary.

Why change narrator???
Napoleon Ryan had finally improved enough (except the women all too high) that he made it to 4 stars.
I am disappointed that all the rest are read by Mattack. He has a pleasant voice and a wude range of expression, but oddly picks out just a few male characters to give individual voices to. The women sound almost indistinguishable from the men.
As for Damien Boyd, he has continued to improve both plot and character development.

Serial Killer, Corruption, Nick, Jane & Monty
Book nine kept me on my toes, just like all the previous ones. A body found at a nuclear power station leads DI NIck Dixon on the search for a killer, but nothing and no one is as it seems. Politics and corruption going back years and an old grudge may cost Dixon his job, yet he presses on, trusting his gut. When Monty gets poisoned, it tears me up as they race to the vet, hoping to save the dogs life. Great addition to the series.

I miss the former narrator
Story quality is interesting as usual, BUT the former narrator was so talented and the new narration is just adequate.

i really enjoyed napoleon ryan narrate this roll. He mad nic sound strong and a character that seemed feared, plus well respected. Sad to say in this version he sounds timid.Credit to the narrator he reads very well, its just hard to distinguish between characters. I was looking forward to book 9 and 10.

Narrator is horrible.
I have loved this series, but this narrator makes listening almost unbearable. No change in tone or inflection between characters. Almost as if he was being forced to read aloud in a classroom. I purchased the next book in the series, hoping that the narrator would have improved. I could not get past the first chapter. I have exchanged it for a credit. Either bring back Napoleon. Or get someone who actually knows how to properly narrate rather than read by rote.
