Hearne, as the introduction states is as much a teacher and a poet as an animal trainer which is clear in this true story, as much about what animals can teach humans as what humans can teach animals. Heather Henderson preform Hearne’s story with warmth as if it were her own. If you’re a pit-bull lover or sympathizer and a lover of philosophy you will find a lot to think about in Bandit and Hearne’s legal tribulations and victories.

Employing a unique combination of psychology, philosophy, sociology, and dog training theory, Vicki Hearne recounts her experiences with Bandit, a dog deemed so dangerous that the state of Connecticut condemned him to death.
