Readers will delight in the wide range of theological, philosophical, and environmental influences that inspired C. S. Lewis--and can still inspire us today.
Before C. S. Lewis changed the lives of millions, other writers changed him.
In The Unexpected C. S. Lewis,award-winning Lewis scholar Kevin Belmonte takes you into the "endless books," ideas, and landscapes that shaped Lewis's imagination, softened his skepticism toward God, and led him to a wonder that still speaks boldly to us today. From a World War I train station to Irish walking paths to rich books and hearthside evenings at home, the places and people that changed Lewis became waystations on his journey of faith.
As you discover the surprising influences on Lewis's life--including literature and philosophy, mythic tales, and a love for the imaginative treasures of the past--you can better trace God's hand in your own life.
