History continues to get political as Zunvect dictates his third autobiographical volume as his stenographer - also his jailor and summoner - gets increasingly distracted by a cross-species romance. Volume three follows Zunvect as he stays put for once, living and studying in Ydrasia, the city of a thousand flavors and a million smells. He has friends now, which is a novelty, and they keep dragging him places when he's trying to sleep, which is a nuisance. Zunvect builds golems (obsessively), plays detective in a murder investigation (lazily), judges cases (bemusedly), and tells long stories (incessantly). He also meets Konrad, the most important man in the world, though nobody knows why. He manages to stay out of the sewer by hiring someone else to go adventuring down there, which is just the kind of good sense that he needs as a future ruler. In the present, Silveria starts a fling with a death god and lobbyists won't stop arguing in her office.©2026 Paul Calhoun (P)2026 Paul Calhoun Fantasy Humoristique Épique
