Supporting students takes more than a back-to-school event—it takes a community committed to showing up throughout the year. In this episode of the African Triangle Initiative podcast, we sit down with Chris France of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity at Baptist Grove Church’s Back to School Community Resource Expo. Drawing on his own experiences navigating college and financial challenges, Chris shares his passion for helping young people access educational opportunities, community resources, and positive role models.
The conversation explores how fraternities and community organizations can strengthen support for Wake County students and families. Chris highlights practical ways to reach today’s youth, while emphasizing the need for meaningful engagement beyond the back-to-school season. From summer resource fairs to youth empowerment summits, he makes the case for consistent connections that help students prepare for college, careers, and life.
