In this Daily Devotion for October 13, 2026, Pastor David Balla walks through Psalm 85:13, the quiet closing line of the psalm: righteousness will go before him and make his footsteps a way. Righteousness does not follow behind, waiting to be proven worthy. It leads the way, opening ground where none seemed to exist.

This devotion shows how that pattern is fulfilled perfectly in Jesus. His righteousness went before you, long before you took a single step in faith. He walked the entire road first, all the way to the cross, so that a way now exists for you to walk safely. There we find true grace, forgiveness, and salvation, a path already prepared rather than built by your own effort. Through His redemption we are welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven, and in the Lord’s Supper He feeds and strengthens you for that road, giving His true body and blood for the forgiveness of sins.

Walk today in confidence, not because your path looks perfectly clear, but because righteousness has already gone before you in Christ. He has already made your footsteps a sure way, leading home to God.
