Does Pentecost still happen today? In Acts 2:1-8 (KJV), A.W. Tozer separates what can never be repeated from what came at Pentecost and stayed.A.W. Tozer Sermon Breakdown Pt 4: Matt Hepner and TopLobsta read Tozer's "The Promised Comforter, the Holy Spirit: Permanency of Pentecost!"Watch on YouTube: https://youtu.be/nZfbeNpXM04?u...After reading Acts 2:1-8, we get Tozer's line: no repetition of Pentecost, but a perpetuation of it. The rushing mighty wind was a sound (Acts 2:2, John 3:8), the cloven tongues of fire sat on each of them (Acts 2:3), and none of it was ever repeated. What stayed is the Comforter, who makes Jesus Christ real: Peter's sermon (Acts 2:33-36), power from on high (Luke 24:49) and why the Holy Spirit was not named after dynamite. Then Satan's dead crow in God's cornfield, the church called to live above her own ability, and Moses: if you don't go with us, I'm not going (Exodus 33:15). Pt 4 of Tozer's ten messages on the Holy Spirit.Wear the series → https://www.toplobsta.com/prod...Primary passage: Acts 2:1-8 (KJV)Also in this episode: 1 Corinthians 13:1 · John 14:26 · John 3:8 · Acts 5:1-11 · Acts 2:41 · Acts 2:47 · Judges 15:4-5 · Acts 2:33-36 · John 16:7-8 · Luke 24:49 · John 1:14 · Exodus 33:15Chapters0:00 Intro2:11 Reading Acts 2:1-8 (KJV)3:22 Known Tongues and the Tongues of Angels (1 Corinthians 13:1)3:45 Repetition vs Perpetuation: Tozer's Outline4:32 The Holy Spirit Will Teach You All Things (John 14:26)7:03 Why Does Every Church Follow the Same Model?10:05 Does Pentecost Still Happen Today?11:22 The Sound of a Rushing Mighty Wind (Acts 2:2)12:15 Nicodemus and the Wind (John 3:8)13:22 Cloven Tongues Like as of Fire (Acts 2:3)17:24 What Happened at Pentecost That Can Never Be Repeated?17:52 Should Every Church Look Like Acts 2?27:16 The Whole Church in One Room (Acts 2:41, 47)30:36 Dwight Moody and Samson's Foxes (Judges 15:4-5)32:39 Why the Wind and Fire Were Never Repeated33:22 What Is the Eternal Element of Pentecost?38:28 Peter: Both Lord and Christ (Acts 2:33-36)38:52 I Will Send Him unto You (John 16:7-8)39:17 Endued With Power From on High (Luke 24:49)39:36 Is the Holy Spirit Named After Dynamite?43:44 What Came at Pentecost and Stayed44:15 Satan's Dead Crow in God's Cornfield48:42 What Mattered When Christ Was Born (John 1:14)57:10 We Desperately Need an Outpouring of the Holy Spirit58:24 The Church Is Called to Live Above Her Own Ability1:02:40 A.B.
