On Friday the 13th of September 2002, a Georgia man vanished without a trace. Bill Farrer’s vehicle and fishing supplies were found abandoned at a quiet creek where he often went fishing. At first, it seemed like Bill may have suffered some kind of accident and drowned. But after an extremely thorough search of the shallow creek turned up nothing, that explanation started to seem less likely.

As the hours passed, Bill’s close-knit family started thinking back on some of the things that had happened in the years and months leading up to his disappearance. There were questions about whether Bill had stumbled into something he shouldn’t have, and just months earlier, he had been attacked by two men at that very same creek.

Bill lived a pretty simple life, but there was a lot more going on beneath the surface. More than two decades later, his family is still trying to figure out what happened to him that Friday morning.
