Description
Leaving Stoney Ridge feels unbearable—but how can she stay?
Impulsive Lydie Stoltzfus has always felt like a disappointment—a square peg in a round hole in her quiet Amish community. Leaving her family and church seems like her best move, even though it would mean leaving Nathan Yoder behind.
Nathan claims he’s in love with her, but she knows she’s not good enough for him.
And if she is ever in doubt, Nathan’s father reminds her frequently.
Knowing Lydie is “between” jobs again, the local doctor asks her to fill in at the front desk for a few months. This gives Lydie time to figure out how she’s going to say goodbye to Nathan—and it gives Dok ample time to recognize the symptoms of a disorder rare among the Amish. She offers Lydie treatment that has the potential to change her life.
But will it be enough to make her stay? Or has help come too late?

Anything but Plain
Listening to this after reading the first two about this family and friends so long ago was difficult trying to know who was related to who.
The Dad had the female voice and that had me confused most of the time. I am going to follow up on the first two of this family to put things together. It was well done but as I said it is best to know the families. I did not hear just what time period this was taking place. Much discussed about ADHD and how to diagnose it and how to live with it. Apparently it can run in families.

My Favorite Author!
This story is one of the most beautiful ever! Suzanne Woods Fisher has brought light to an important subject, ADHD. She explains how it affects those with it and those who live with these individuals. What a beautiful story of hope and love, beautifully told! All of her stories are told with unexpected twists and turns. She is my favorite author. If you love the Amish and love stories you won’t be disappointed.

I loved it!
As someone living with ADHD, and witnessing both my daughters have ADHD (one formally diagnosed, the other still to be tested), and also as someone who has deep faith in God, this was a very touching and meaningful story.

Great!!
This is a very endearing story about a very important subject matter. I loved the author’s approach. The narrator is one of my favorites. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a clean wholesome book. So hard to find clean books in audible.
