------------

Feathers are flying in Agatha Raisin's brand new case!

Agatha Raisin can think of nothing duller than a lecture on birdwatching... but events take a thrilling turn when an angry interloper storms the stage at the Carsely Ladies' Society and threatens the three bird fanatics.

When Agatha walks in on the trio of women in the middle of a blazing row, her detective instincts start 'twitching'. And when one of the birdwatchers is found dead, she can't resist investigating.

Her first lead comes from the victim's brother, who believes his sister was murdered by her fellow twitchers. Further digging reveals the disturbing nature of the women's friendship, and a bewilderingly long list of suspects.

Agatha will have to break out her binoculars and embrace her bitter side to solve the murders. Will she be able to gather all the breadcrumbs and put together the clues before she becomes a sitting duck herself?

Lots of mystery in a package that makes you laugh and cry
Praise for M. C. Beaton:
The detective novels of M C Beaton have reached cult status
No wonder she's been crowned Queen of Cosy Crime
A Beaton novel is like The Archers on speed
Every new Agatha Raisin escapade is a total joy (Ashley Jensen)
Agatha is like Miss Marple with a drinking problem, a pack-a-day habit and major man lust. In fact, I think she could be living my dream life
M. C. Beaton's imperfect heroine is an absolute gem
Irresistible, unputdownable, a joy (Anne Robinson)
[Agatha] is a glorious cross between Miss Marple, Auntie Mame, and Lucille Ball . . . She's wonderful
Few things in life are more satisfying than to discover a brand-new Agatha Raisin mystery

Agatha doesn’t smoke anymore. Doesn’t worry about her waistline. Doesn’t ’fall in love with dark handsome bad guys.. Barely swears. Charles lost all his charm and James isn’t an obsession anymore. How boring Carsley has become. No more funny clumsiness. No humour at all, actually. These last books are just a way of cashing on the Agatha Raisin brand. Please, get a woman to write the next ones. Or at least someone who understands how a 50 something unsecure but deternined woman works. How important a waistline can sometimes be. Or having your hair done. And how that woman will always fall for the wrong guy, not realising the good ones are just there, close to her. And mostly, how funny life can be with a woman that nothing stops, specially the politically correct 2020s. That being said, listening to Penelope Keith is always such a pleasure!

Can we have our Agatha back, please?
