Aesop
A collection of 100 fables from Aesop, including such familiar ones as "The Grasshopper and the Ants," "The North Wind and the Sun," "Androcles and the Lion," "The Troublesome Dog," and "The Fox and the Stork".
Public Domain (P)2009 Trout Lake MediaAvis de l'équipe
Thousands of years of oral tradition are passed on through this clear and unadorned performance of more than 100 short, moral tales credited to the Greek slave and fabulist Aesop. Familiar fables include "Androcles and the Lion", "The Grasshopper and the Ants", "The North Wind and the Sun", and "The Fox and the Stork". The collection is a handy showcase for Aesop’s keen observations of animal characteristics and human foibles, as well as a great introduction to stories popular around the globe that serve as the inspiration for such well known phrases as "sour grapes" and "a bird in the hand".
