In a small southern town in the United States, at a time when racial division was struggling to become a thing of the past, a black man is murdered for sport.
A Long Road To Reckoning tells the story of how one boy’s folly sends a shockwave through a community that forces its citizens to think beyond race and to examine their feelings about right and wrong no matter what color someone is. Some will step up, some will stay silent, and some will fall from grace.
In each case, it all comes down to a matter of the choices that they will make. It is a story about injustice. It is a story about racism. It is a story about the power that we have to make choices in our lives, even in the times that it may feel as though we are powerless to make any choice at all. But mostly, it is a story about the fact that, as human beings, we all understand pain, fear, anger, and love, and the consequences that come with our choices around which of these feelings we may choose to let dominate our lives.
As the story unfolds, we begin to see that sometimes, the power of choice can be the most powerful force that we possess.
