When Dwight L. Moody preached in New York in the late 1870s, thousands gathered to hear him proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ to the masses. Out of those meetings came The Faithful Saying – this collection of wonderful, powerful sermons. With warmth, urgency, and simplicity, Moody calls believers to repentance, deeper faith, and personal revival. He reminds us that God chooses the weak to confound the mighty, that He honors the faith of His people, and that courage and wholehearted service are essential for anyone called to work in His vineyard.

This book is a comprehensive study on the subject of prayer, and will show you that there are nine elements which are essential to true prayer

When you wish to know something about godly living, where do you look? Is there a better place to look than to the men of the Bible? The Lord, in all His wisdom, left us with a wonderful textbook–the Holy Scriptures.

Where am I? Who am I? Where am I going? I think it is good for a man to pause and ask himself these questions. I do not ask you where you are in the eyes of your family, friends, or the community in which you live. It is of very little account what men think of us, but it is of vast importance what God thinks of us.

In the church today, we have everything buttoned up perfectly. The music is flawless, the sermon well-prepared and smoothly delivered, and the grounds meticulously kept. People come on time and go home on time. But a fundamental element is missing. The business of church has undermined the individual's need to truly live for Christ, so much so, that only a limited few are seeing their life impact the world.

There is life in Christ. Rich, joyous, wonderful life. It is true that the Lord disciplines those whom He loves and that we are often tempted by the world and our enemy, the devil. But if we know how to go beyond that temptation to cling to the cross of Jesus Christ and keep our eyes on our Lord, our reward both here on earth and in heaven will be 100 times better than what this world has to offer. This book is thorough. It brings to life the love of God, examines the state of the unsaved individual's soul, and analyzes what took place on the cross for our sins.

Whoever neglects the second coming of Christ has only a mutilated gospel, for the Bible teaches us not only of the death and sufferings of Christ, but also of his return to reign in honor and glory. His second coming is referred to over 300 times. There is hardly any church that does not make a great deal of baptism, yet in all of Paul's epistles, baptism is spoken of only 13 times, while he speaks about the return of our Lord 50 times, and yet the church has had very little to say about it. The devil does not want us to see this truth, for nothing would wake up the church so much.

There is no situation in life for which you cannot find some word of consolation in Scripture. If you are in affliction, if you are in adversity and trial, there is a promise for you. In joy and sorrow, in health and in sickness, in poverty and in riches, in every condition of life, God has a promise stored up in His Word for you. This classic book by Dwight L. Moody brings to light the necessity of studying the Scriptures, presents methods that help stimulate excitement for the Scriptures, and offers tools to help you comprehend the difficult passages in the Scriptures.

God will exalt us when the time is right. We needn't try to promote ourselves; we needn't struggle for position. Let God put us where he wants us and let us be true to God. It is better for a man to be right with God, even if he holds no great earthly position. This study illustrates what Daniel did, and also what Daniel didn't do, which caught the attention of God and kings alike. Few are the men in history of Daniel's caliber, even though the principles he followed can be implemented by all. Are you ready to be a truly great man, one that will cause God and men to take notice?

Bring history back to life through Jim Hodges' historically accurate, exciting, and edifying audio recordings. Dwight Lyman Moody was one of the most famous Evangelists of the 19th century, giving thousands of sermons in hundreds of cities throughout the United States and England. He and his song leader, Ira Sankey, preached the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the highest and lowest members of society, using everyday examples and a common-man approach that enthralled them all.

He did not come from a home of influence. He didn't have abundant wealth at his disposal. Dwight Lyman Moody began his career selling shoes and it was the encouragement of a teacher that moved him toward a lifestyle that demonstrated a love for others that was unearned. In time, a church he founded, that met first in a saloon, became a beloved church that still impacts the city of Chicago.

God did not mean for salvation to be a deep, complicated subject that man could not understand. But sometimes man's words confuse God's simple truths. D. L. Moody, one of the 19th century's greatest evangelists, shows how simple salvation is. Avoiding heavy philosophy, he simply shows "the way to God."

The two first and essential means of grace are the Word of God and Prayer. These two means of grace must be used in their right proportion. If we read the Word and do not pray, we may become puffed up with knowledge, without the love that buildeth up. If we pray without reading the Word, we shall be ignorant of the mind and will of God, and become mystical and fanatical, and liable to be blown about by every wind of doctrine. These Addresses are not to be regarded as exhaustive, but suggestive. This great subject has been the theme of Prophets and Apostles, and of all good men in all ages of ...

An exposition of the verse, “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.” Galatians vi: 7, 8. - Summary by Jeremy Sherwood

Perhaps the greatest American evangelist of the 19th century, Dwight L. Moody inspired millions with his sermons. Although a century and a half separates us from his impassioned explications of the Bible, Moody's ardor rings with overtones of today's fundamentalist Christianity and can offer critical clues to understanding the orthodox religious outlook still dramatically influencing our culture in the 21st century.

In this thought-provoking exploration, we delve into the two foundational means of grace the Word of God and Prayer. Its crucial to strike the right balance between these two. Neglecting prayer while immersing ourselves in Scripture can lead to prideful knowledge devoid of love. Conversely, praying without grounding ourselves in the Word may result in confusion and vulnerability to misguided beliefs. These addresses are intended not as a comprehensive study but as thoughtful reflections. This timeless topic has inspired Prophets, Apostles, and countless devoted individuals throughout history. ...
