Baytown Legacies

The Chesapeake Bay was always going to call Jack Hudson home.Leaving Baytown was never the end of the story—just a necessary chapter. Now he’s back, carrying the weight of service, family legacy, and a future he’s finally ready to claim. The town feels familiar. The people feel the same.Except for Rachel.Once, she’d looked at him like he hung the moon. Now she looks at him like he’s a complication she doesn’t have time for—and maybe she’s right. Because Jack never forgot the girl he fell in love with. And he’s not willing to accept that what they shared belongs only to the past.Rachel Wallen learned a long time ago not to build her life around promises, no matter how sincere. Loving Jack was easy. Waiting was not. She stayed, grew, and built a life rooted in purpose and responsibility—while he chased the future they’d once dreamed about together. Now Jack is back, asking for space in her life again. Asking her to believe. But this time, the stakes are higher than broken hearts. When danger creeps too close to home and Baytown’s quiet surface begins to crack, Jack must prove that coming back means more than just showing up. It means staying. Standing firm. And choosing the woman who’s always been his home.Because some legacies aren’t inherited. They are fought for.
