It is here where we meet our protagonist, a young black man who is deeply devoted to his faith and serves as the choir director. He is beloved by his church family, but lately, he has begun to question the teachings of his community. The church's doctrine preaches that only members of their church are children of God, and this belief has been causing turmoil within him.
