In this 3rd mystery of the series, tracker/cartographer Mitch Holland and treasure hunter Rod Florea find themselves on Mt. Whitney (California), highest mountain in the contiguous USA. It is there that they come to the aid of two teenagers who are looking for hidden Spanish Gold. An old map purchased at a yard sale turns out to be quite authentic, and the 16th century pirate tale that gives the map that authenticity is indeed a bone-chilling account.

In the heart of a vibrant community, there lies a mega size Pentecostal Holiness church by the name of "Get Right Outreach Center"-(GROC). It is here where we meet our protagonist, a young black man who is deeply devoted to his faith and serves as the choir director. He is beloved by his church family, but lately, he has begun to question the teachings of his community. The church's doctrine preaches that only members of their church are children of God, and this belief has been causing turmoil within him.
