Left alone with her baby girl after her husband is killed—and with winter on the way—Beth Fletcher is out of options. And so she joins a wagon caravan, leaving behind the cold streets of Virginia to forge a new life as a mail order bride in California. The trail is long and dangerous, but with the help of Mr. Jackson, the caravan’s scout, they make their way through the western wilds.
