Mikura Moriya expected a quiet and peaceful life in the forest when he inherited his great-grandfather’s house and enormous orchard. The usual result of a human taking a runaway semitruck head-on is a very sudden, very fast track to the pearly gates. But for one newly noncorporeal man, there's another option: become a dungeon. Feeling sorry for the desperate angel assigned to him, the man relents. Heck, if it doesn't work out, he can always chat with Saint Peter about it later. Next thing you know, he's a dungeon. Admittedly, a small run-down, somewhat unimpressive dungeon (more of a house, actually), but you gotta start somewhere, right?

Not long ago, the dungeon known as Thedeim was a mere human. But after an up-close-and-personal meeting with a runaway semitruck—and subsequent dealings with a rather flustered Angel of Prodigals—he found himself in a new world, reincarnated as a run-down old house that just barely qualified as a dungeon. However, it didn't take long for him to build his core, mana, and reputation, making friends along the way.

Transformed from a mortal man into a dungeon in a strange new reality, Thedeim has since gone from a know-nothing hovel to a do-everything force to be reckoned with. Through some hard work and an indomitable will, he's gathered enough loyal followers and minions as well as a menagerie of creatures at his command to do some serious good. He's gone from lowly to godly, and watchful eyes are taking notice.

The four rules of freelance villainy are as follows: 1. Always wear a mask 2. Never hurt civilians 3. Never kill the heroes you’re paid to fight. 4. And the bad guy always loses. Victor, better known as the super villain Magneron, always played by those rules. He fought the bad fight, got beat, and got paid. And that worked well for him and the many women who loved him. What it didn't work for was the Guild of Villainous Foes, the premiere bad guy organization on the planet!

Life inside the Protection Zone is thrilling beyond imagination. Every day I am drowning in luxury, adventure, and more beautiful women than I can count, a dream scenario if I can stay focused. But bikini-clad distractions are everywhere, and I can feel my attention slipping. But while all the rampant hedonism is awesome, I need to focus my efforts on building new and improved weapons that we can sell for untold sums of money. Also, some of the women hadn't formally accepted my marriage proposals, so I wanted to focus on that as well.

But being a nice dungeon means taking on some not-so-nice entities.

Mikura and Tokatechi are gradually ticking off all the items on their wedding checklist. Beastfolk weddings are more relaxed than human ones, a bit like a big gathering party where two families unite as one. There aren't too many preparations left, so once the dress is ready, the couple can start a new chapter in their lives and relationship. Though the wedding is just around the corner, life in the Beastly Wilds is slow and leisurely like always...unless you're a good cook who's got hungry mouths to feed!

As summer closes in, Mikura and Tokatechi enter a new stage of their life, now a married couple. But it doesn't feel like there has been too much drastic change in their blissful, leisurely life. Mikura's busy cooking like always, while Tokatechi's busy with her work in the orchard. As time goes by, Mikura's circle of unique acquaintances steadily grows within the Beastly Wilds, and he gradually learns more about this beautiful forest of secrets.
