The Crosswells are celebrating Grandy's birthday (we don't discuss her age unless we are willing to be cursed with warts in unspeakable places) with a big party at Coven House, and I'm in charge of the cake. My name is Ruby Crosswell, and I'm a newly re-practicing witch. Not only that, but I can turn into a cat. It’s one heck of a trick, but don’t ask me how I do it. I’m still working on the logistics. When a vampire interrupts the celebration, the sweet and powdered festivities turn bloodsucking.

Raj is twenty-nine and three-quarters years old. The sum of three consecutive squares, the tenth prime number, and the laughingstock of the century. Unless he can graduate soon, he will be an under-qualified magician forever. To prevent this tragedy, Raj’s mentor sends him to catch a mischievous imp infesting a local construction company. While the ‘easy’ project should lead to Raj’s advancement, the creature flees to a crumbling wool mill in the countryside. To make matters worse, the mill is inhabited by a feisty pensioner, and, Eliza, a two hundred-year-old dragon.

Henry's used to everyone being afraid of him–being a hellhound has that effect on people. What he's not used to is having every animal within a four-mile radius suddenly wanting to be his best friend. Pigeons roosting on your shoulder: annoying, but mostly harmless. The local moose population stampeding toward you in the hopes of a hug: somewhat more worrying. There's nothing for it but to escape to the mountains, where he can use his hellhound form to intimidate the local wildlife into leaving him alone. But a stop for one last piece of cake leads him straight to his fated mate.

Zora Wick is at the end of her tether. After a lifetime of bad luck, it seems she’s ended up at rock bottom, saddled with debt from her cheating ex, a dead-end job with no prospects, and a studio apartment that’s not even fit for a dog. It all seems a little hopeless until there’s a knock at the door. It turns out Zora has long-lost family on the other side of the country. After uprooting herself, Zora arrives in town to find that not only has she inherited an estranged family, she’s also the sole heir of the town’s local bakery—and apparently she’s a witch.

Gale has a problem. A really thorny problem. He can't touch anything made of wood without it bursting into bloom… which is inconvenient, to say the least. Clearly, his unicorn is cranky about something—Gale just wishes he knew what. In the meantime, being cursed with the world's most annoying green thumb is making it pretty much impossible to continue working as a sous chef. Maybe a relaxing trip into the mountains will be enough to soothe his sullen unicorn.

What do an intergalactic art thief, a snarky AI, and a sexy protestor have in common? It’s up to them to save the universe! Mathia thinks stealing Princess Rosalie’s spaceship will lead to a peaceful protest.
