À propos de ce contenu audio

Explore the habits of leaders in the data science field. What do they do to improve their personal productivity, work more effectively with people and have a better life. 'Cause we all deserve a better life right? To build analytics capability you need soft skills as well as the hard ones. At least some of our focus needs to be on the people and how they succeed (and fail) in generating insights AND making them stick.2021 Cindy Tonkin consultantsconsultant.com.au Economie Management Management et direction Réussite personnelle

    • 30: Lori Silverman: not just decisions: Actions!
      Dec 18 2019

My guest today is Lori Silverman. Lori is not a data person as such: she specialises in getting organisations to shift. And she has some fascinating things to say around how data stories are told.

I first encountered Lori’s work in the early 2000s when I read Wake Me Up When the Data is Over, a book on story telling which is even more relevant today. She has written a few others: here’s a link to her author page on Amazon. And visit her website Business-Storytelling.com for more information about her.

      Lori and I talk about:

      • data science vs decision science
      • the future of data and decision-making
      • the qualities of an excellent data person (scientist, analyst, whatever)
      • strategic thinking.

In reviewing the transcript I found it hard to not highlight almost every sentence for an interesting nugget. I hope you’ll enjoy it too!
