Welcome back to Call Edna: a prohibition era family cold case with ties to America’s most infamous gangster, Al Capone. This week we're taking on the powerful Frank Nitti, the man who "took over" for Al Capone in 1932. And considering what he was up to in February of 1933, did he order Bruce's murder?

      yours, edna.

Happy (almost) New Year. In this episode we're digging into Roger Touhy's memoir, The Stolen Years, first published in 1959. Touhy's arrest and conviction for kidnapping John "Jake the Barber" Factor in 1934 is a perfect example of the corruption of prohibition era Chicago through the lens of Chicago police captain Dan Gilbert and State's Attorney Thomas Courtney.

And Touhy's book is publicly available online!

      yours, edna.
