This week we're taking on the powerful Frank Nitti, the man who "took over" for Al Capone in 1932. And considering what he was up to in February of 1933, did he order Bruce's murder?

Happy (almost) New Year. In this episode we're digging into Roger Touhy's memoir, The Stolen Years, first published in 1959. Touhy's arrest and conviction for kidnapping John "Jake the Barber" Factor in 1934 is a perfect example of the corruption of prohibition era Chicago through the lens of Chicago police captain Dan Gilbert and State's Attorney Thomas Courtney.

And Touhy's book is publicly available online!

    yours, edna.

How tangled can the web get? Welcome back to Call Edna, the podcast where I solve my great-great grandfather’s prohibition era murder.

This week we're evaluating our investigation and what unanswered questions we have. Like why did the Zeigler family have police protection for 18 months? What happened to the street lights on the night of the murder? How many people are we looking for? Where are the police files?

And, of course, what's up with this eyewitness?

    yours, edna.
