Your story is not just what happened to you. It’s the evidence that you made it through. When we survive our stories — when we name them, sit with them, and dare to share them — we become living proof for someone else that it’s possible. Survival isn’t just personal. It’s political. It’s communal. It’s how we pass the torch.
We are three Black women. Three different paths. One unwavering commitment — to the wellness and wholeness of our community. We have each walked through the doors of carceral settings, carrying healing into places the world too often forgets. We know what it means to show up for people society has written off. And we know what it costs.
Our guest Bre Scullark walked away from the spotlight of America’s Next Top Model and toward something she couldn’t ignore — the call to heal. As a trauma specialist, yoga instructor, and public health educator at Rikers Island, she has built sanctuaries inside some of the hardest walls in this city.
What we loved most was Bre’s unwavering dedication to showing up as herself. She is a light, a fire, and an ocean of truth.
We’re talking toxic environments — work, family, relationships, the voice inside your own head. Somatic wisdom, recognizing poison before it takes root, and finding the joy that actually sustains you. You won’t want to miss this one.
