  • A Car Ride Turns into a Crazy Podcast About Secrets, Squishmallows & Failed Hat Heists
    Dec 23 2025

    Get in touch

Buckle up for a rolling snapshot of real life: we pressed record in a San Francisco car with friends Ellie and Emmeline, plus Papa chiming in, and let the chaos do the steering. What came out is a fast, funny, and oddly tender ride filled with kid logic, family teasing, and those blink‑and‑you‑miss‑them moments that only happen when no one is trying too hard.

The car turns into a clubhouse stacked with tablets, squishmallows, and Geometry Dash obsession. Levels get rattled off like a setlist, a Rubik’s cube meets its match, and the joy of being the expert shines through.

We get delightfully meta as Yeshe dredges up an old podcast name and half‑remembered intro, turning family audio history into folklore. There’s a surreal detour through a “Big Mac crystal” for Minecraft and a cheeky riff on K‑pop star power. Throughout, the car hums with laughter, misquotes, mock ads, and the easy affection of people who know each other well enough to be silly together. No heavy edits, no script—just a live, lo‑fi time capsule that preserves the day the way it felt.

We close with a quick reality check—some things true, some not—and a warm holiday wish as the recording finally sees daylight after a patient wait. If you love candid family moments, road‑trip banter, and the way kids turn everyday life into a comedy sketch, this one’s for you. Tap play, ride along, and tell us your favourite moment.

  • A Tour of Lago de Atitlán, Guatemala
    Nov 29 2025

    Get in touch

Lago de Atitlán (Lake Atitlán) is probably the most famous part of the beautiful Central American country called Guatemala. It’s a crater lake surrounded by volcanoes, and tended by many Mayan cultures over thousands of years. Come with me as we visit some Mayan friends at the incredible Instituto Mesoamericano de Permacultura, or IMAP (the Mesoamerican Permaculture Institute), lakeside near San Lucas Tolimán. It’s a great story of regeneration.

And what was already a big adventure, unexpectedly became an even bigger one! You’ll hear papa with me in this one too. And you can join the whole family on a full tour of IMAP on his podcast, in both Spanish and English (with photos).

You can see my photographic journal of our whole journey in the Americas on my website, Yeshe Images.

  • Hurricane Helene, as it happened live in Savannah, Georgia
    Oct 28 2024

    Get in touch

Yeshe was still in Savanna, Georgia, when the devastating category 4 Hurricane Helene struck the US on the 26th of September. What started as Yeshe recording how incrediblethe rain was, early in the day, became a live take on his first experience of a hurricane. Which got a bit scary as the warning sirens started wailing into the night.

This episode is dedicated to everyone affected by thedevastation of Hurricane Helene. To support those still in need and recovering, papa's friends at Agrarian Trust sent this list to us - https://www.agrariantrust.org/hurricane-helene/

Sadly, there was widespread damage and power outages around where we were, and so much more damage was to come, right into the mountains of North Carolina. The hurricane travelled 100 miles inland before even being downgraded to a tropical storm.

  • Savannah's Unique Blend: Greenery, Storms, and Floating Tubes
    Oct 15 2024

    Get in touch

Join me, Yeshe, as I regale you with tales from my latest escapade. Imagine lounging on a deck free from mosquito menaces, surrounded by the peculiar mix of lush greenery and the occasional trash, all while contemplating why fake plants are the decor of choice indoors. As the tropical warmth envelops us and air conditioners hum their tune, there's a thrilling tropical storm brewing that promises an exciting twist to our stay. Plus, there's a beach adventure featuring frolicking dolphins and daring flying fish that you won't want to miss!

With my mother attending a Qigong conference, our base by the river even comes with some unique surprises—like a mysterious floating tube teasingly placed next to gator-infested waters. I finally embraced the waves for a swim, a first since we left home. And while the allure of stormy weather brings an unusual excitement, our riverside retreat with its curious mix of hammock relaxation and busy roadside buzz offers the perfect backdrop for a memorable week in Georgia. So, tune in for a touch of humor, a little weather-induced anticipation, and the joys of discovering Savannah's hidden gems.

  • Absorbing 2,500 Mount Everests of Carbon: Steve Mushin's Vision of Ultrawilding! (part 2)
    Aug 1 2024

    Get in touch

Can we truly absorb all greenhouse gas emissions since the Industrial Revolution through natural ecosystems? Join me as I ask this confusing question to Steve Mushin, the brilliant mind behind "Ultrawild". Steve walks us through the enormity of carbon sequestration, comparing it to the mass of 2,500 Mount Everests. We also address the unsettling frequency of sewer explosions caused by methane gas buildup and introduce a visionary "sewer submarine" plan designed to filter and clean waste to prevent such dangerous incidents.
The conversation then takes a thrilling turn as we explore futuristic urban living concepts. Imagine a transportation system that uses waste heat from buildings to launch riders into the air, or floating cities buoyed by methane gas from cattle, reminiscent of Buckminster Fuller's Cloud Nine theory.

Steve’s inventive solutions, such as bioprinting edible limbs and utilizing eco-friendly technologies, paint an optimistic picture of sustainable living. We highlight the importance of individual actions and political will in driving these changes, offering practical tips like using solar water heaters and participating in environmental initiatives. Tune in for an eye-opening journey into the future of sustainability and innovation!

Join me, Yeshe, as I chat with the incredibly inventive Steve Mushin, author and illustrator of Ultrawild: An audacious plan to rewild every city on earth. In this incredible discussion, Steve talks about his crazy ideas to rewild every city on Earth. From zero carbon technologies to crazy but awesome innovations, Steve's journey is packed with unique projects like the composting cannon and the fantastic Chicken Castle project, where chickens rule the rooftops and serve gourmet sky-delivered omelettes!
Prepare for a mix of ingenious ideas and hilarious moments as we tackle the logistics and challenges of these ambitious projects. Steve shares his insights on transforming every toilet into a compost launcher and the entertaining concept of compostapults—giant catapults inspired by Roman technology to deliver compost to skyscraper farms.
