  • Wild finish season with win, Cavs look to clinch third place
    Oct 17 2025

We recorded this episode in the McMahon Stadium press box immediately after the Calgary Wild's final match of 2025. The Wild ended their regular season on a positive note, defeating the Vancouver Rise 2-1. We provide a recap and we also spoke with head coach Lydia Bedford about the match and her thoughts about the season overall.

Cavalry FC also have their final match of the regular season this week. They travel to Langley to play the CONCACAF-bound yet cellar dwelling Vancouver FC. There is still a lot of potential for movement in playoff positions. We preview the match and work out some of the scenarios.

In the final weekend of the Canada West season we will see two editions of the Crowchild Classic as the men's teams face off on Saturday and the women's teams battle on Sunday. The SAIT Trojans also wrap up their regular season. Both teams from the Cougars, Dinos and Trojans will be in post season matches next weekend.

  • Depleted Cavs set to host Forge, Dinos and Cougars prep for Crowchild Classic
    Oct 10 2025

Eryk Kobza from Cavalry FC joins us this week to talk about his career, this season with the Cavs so far, the big matchup vs Forge this week and what really happened with that goal celebration where he tried to get into the locked car.

The Calgary Wild have their second last match of the season vs the Halifax Tides. The Wild typically have played well against the Tides so this could be a good opportunity to pick up three points.

The women's edition of the Crowchild Classic returns this weekend after a three year absence. The Dinos and Cougars will face off at MRU in a battle of the two top teams in the Prairie division of Canada West.

The SAIT Trojans have a match on the long weekend, a Calgarian has been called to play in the women's U17 World Cup and the Calgary Blizzard picked up another national trophy in Winnipeg.

  • "Pxxx Poor" defending from Cavalry leads to dropped points, Dinos men stumble at home
    Oct 6 2025

Cavalry FC continued their push for third place on the weekend and battled Pacific to a somewhat disappointing 3-3 draw on Vancouver Island. Manager Tommy Wheeldon Jr had another word before "poor" in his comments about defending, but I wasn't sure if adding it to the title would trigger explicit warnings for this episode. We discuss the match.

The Calgary Wild are finishing up their season playing for pride and their jobs. They faced first place AFC Toronto at McMahon Stadium on the weekend and suffered another 2-1 loss to the league leaders. We review this match as well.

There were a lot of USports matches over the weekend and we provide updates on all of them, including the Dinos men, who only captured 1 of 6 possible points. The Cougars men had a win and a loss which keeps them in first place in the division. The Dinos women maintained their unbeaten season while the Cougars beat the other Cougars and lost to Saskatchewan.

The Calgary ACAC derby happened again over the weekend and as usual the SAIT Trojans swept the Ambrose Lions. Both men's and women's Trojans teams have clinched playoff spots.

A couple of former podcast guests found the back of the net in Europe this weekend. We give updates about Bori Fayale and Kendall Showers in our final segment.

  • Wild win, Cavs lose, MRU men's team vaults into first place
    Sep 29 2025

We review all of this weekend's matches involving Calgary area teams, both pro and post-secondary.

The Calgary Wild broke their losing slide with a 2-0 win in Montreal. However, Vancouver's draw mathematically eliminated the Wild from playoff contention.

Cavalry FC suffered a 3-0 loss to Ottawa that eliminates any hope of finishing top two in the table.

The Dinos men's team had a dismal weekend, dropping both games they played in Edmonton. But that wasn't the case for the MRU Cougars, who won both of their matches and have now vaulted into first place in the divison.

The SAIT Trojans men's team had a big matchup vs Medicine Hat College that will go a long way to determining the south division champion.

The Dinos and Cougars and Trojans women's teams keep racking up the victories as all three sides were undefeated this weekend by a combined score of 20-3.

  • Mykena Walker talks about Dinos season, Blizzard career and goal celebrations
    Sep 26 2025

Our interview is with Dinos right back Mykena Walker. The fourth year player from Airdrie is part of the Dinos veteran core that's led the school to being ranked 3rd nationally. She talks about her time with the Dinos as well as playing for Blizzard as a youth and in League One Alberta. And we get some background on her goal celebration last weekend.

Calgary's pro clubs both have Saturday morning matches in eastern Canada. Cavalry will face Ottawa while the Wild visit Montreal. We preview both matches.

We preview the Dinos and Cougars in Canada West action and talk about the SAIT Trojans. The Trojans men's team have a huge matchup vs Medicine Hat College this weekend.

  • Backflips everywhere as Cavalry clinches playoff spot
    Sep 22 2025

In our weekend recap episode, we discuss Cavalry FC's victory over Valour which clinched them a playoff spot. We also talk about USports action. The Dinos women drew Macewen to put an end to their perfect record. The Dinos men's team vaulted over the Cougars with a couple of wins while the Cougars could only get 1 point this weekend.

Calgarian Willie Akio capped off his season playing in the Australian NPL state leagues this weekend. He scored a brace to lift his club to win their Grand Final.

One common thread we noticed this weekend were all of the backflip celebrations. In the Cavalry match, both Goteh Ntiginee and Caniggia Elva wowed the crowd with their post goal celebrations. In Edmonton, Mykena Walker surprised the play by play person with a backflip after she scored. And Willie Akio also did his trademark backflip celebration in Australia.
