À propos de ce contenu audio

I seek to highlight the weird creative fictions, the stranger than fiction truths that enlighten and the everyday grind of the entrepreneur, artists, musicians and poets. I will showcase the deep candor and whimsical insights of the various characters I am blessed to call my friends. Perhaps I'll meet a few more nerdy friends along the way.Wes Chambers Sciences sociales

    • #05_James Michael McCoy: From Texas Farms to Filmmaking Adventures
      Dec 5 2025

James Michael McCoy is an adventurer, filmmaker, naturalist, and writer. A 5th generation Texan who grew up exploring the rolling hills of North Texas on land the Comanches used to roam. He was raised on a farm, where he learned to garden, and take care of livestock. Reading Larry McMurtry books, and watching movies like The Last Picture Show inspired McCoy to dream beyond the pastures and oil patches of North Texas. He graduated from Texas State University with a business degree and went to work in the corporate world as a professional salesman for several years. McCoy taught himself to write screenplays, and eventually networked his way onto various independent film projects in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

In 2015 he met Peter Gorman, a journalist and writer who had been traveling to Peru, and working with indigenous tribes for 35 years. Less than a year later, McCoy was in Amazonia filming a documentary titled More Joy, Less Pain: The Life of Peter Gorman.

McCoy is releasing his first book in 2025 "My Mom and the Frog: On the Trail of Peter Gorman".

The book is about McCoy’s experiences with the giant monkey tree frog medicine known as sapo.

    • #04_Preston Rutherford: The Mystic Musician on Truth, Vibes, and Poetic Fights.
      Nov 14 2025

Preston Rutherford is a seeker of truth, meaning and good vibes. He is a musician, rapper and poet with the soul of a fighter. He is what some might call handsome, despite being a modern day mystic or philosopher.

He is my buddy and in this episode we speak candidly as deep thinkers that haven't spoken with each other in a long time.

( This episode was recorded over the phone and without video and I like the long pauses of silence we give each other to think before responding. )

Preston Rutherford, musician interview, rapper poet, modern mystic, truth seeker, philosophical talk, good vibes, fighter soul, candid conversation, artist journey
