Wisdom Notebook is a podcast about seeking biblical wisdom and learning to live it out.

Each day, we begin in the book of Proverbs—reading Scripture and reflecting on one truth worth carrying with us. Along the way, we’ll go deeper, studying other books of the Bible and learning from the lives, sermons, letters, books, and writings of Christians who have gone before us—from the Apostles, Charles Spurgeon, C.S. Lewis, Billy Graham, and many others.

We aren't looking for heroes to imitate or human wisdom to accept without question. We’re searching for what is true, testing what we learn against Scripture, and asking what it means for the way we follow Christ today.

Open your Bible. Grab a notebook. And join a community of Wisdom Seekers learning together from Scripture and from those who have gone before us.

Seek wisdom. Write it down. Live it out.

  • Episode #022 - What's Your Name Worth? | Proverbs 22
    Oct 22 2026

Hello Wisdom Seekers! I'd love to hear your thoughts about today's Scripture and episode.

    Wisdom Notebook — Episode #022

    Proverbs 22 — What's Your Name Worth?

What comes to mind when someone hears your name? Are you known for your accomplishments, or for your character?

In Proverbs 22:1, Solomon reminds us that a good name is worth more than great riches. Drawing from his experiences as a teacher, Orlando explores how honesty, respect, responsibility, and integrity shape the kind of person we become.

A good name isn't about being well known. It's about being well trusted.

    From My Wisdom Notebook

“A good name isn't built by what I say about myself, but by the character I demonstrate each day.”

    Scripture

    Proverbs 22:1; Luke 16:10

  • Episode #021 - Nobody Likes a Know-It-All | Proverbs 21
    Oct 21 2026

Hello Wisdom Seekers! I'd love to hear your thoughts about today's Scripture and episode.

    Wisdom Notebook — Episode #021

    Proverbs 21 — Nobody Likes a Know-It-All

Nobody likes a know-it-all. But sometimes it's easier to recognize arrogance in others than in ourselves.

In Proverbs 21:24, Solomon warns against the danger of pride. Orlando explores the difference between being knowledgeable and being arrogant, sharing lessons from his classroom about remaining teachable and using what we know to help others.

True wisdom isn't about proving how much we know. It's about having the humility to keep learning and the willingness to serve others.

    From My Wisdom Notebook

“Wisdom is humble enough to keep learning and generous enough to share what it knows.”

    Scripture

    Proverbs 21:24; Proverbs 18:15; John 13:1–17

  • Episode #020 - When the Drink Takes Control | Proverbs 20
    Oct 20 2026

Hello Wisdom Seekers! I'd love to hear your thoughts about today's Scripture and episode.

    Wisdom Notebook — Episode #020

Proverbs 20 — When the Drink Takes Control

Alcohol can destroy more than a person's health. It can damage relationships, break families, and leave wounds that last a lifetime.

In this deeply personal episode, Orlando shares his experience growing up with an alcoholic father, the precious years they shared during his sobriety, and the heartbreak of addiction's return.

Through Proverbs 20:1, we explore the dangers of allowing alcohol—or anything else—to take control of our lives, while remembering that those struggling with addiction need compassion, support, and hope.

    From My Wisdom Notebook

“Wisdom recognizes the danger when something I consume begins to control me.”

    Scripture

    Proverbs 20:1; Proverbs 23:29–35; Ephesians 5:18; 1 Corinthians 6:12
