À propos de ce contenu audio

Hosts Joel Gunderson (sommelier and partner of Coopers Hall) and Adam Rack (Coopers Hall assistant winemaker) explore sustainability in wine. Coopers Hall opened in 2014 as Oregon’s first keg-focused winery and as they’ve grown and evolved, many questions have arisen about how to continue to keep sustainability in mind.

In each episode they’ll invite colleagues of the Willamette Valley wine community to discuss such topics as land and water management, certifications, inclusivity and exclusivity in wine, reusable packaging, labor shortages and immigrant rights. And of course enjoy some wine as well.

    • Winesplained - Episode #7 - Guest Keenan O’Hern
      Jun 13 2022

Keenan O’Hern and his business partner Austin Ziegler are on a mission to build a refillable bottle for the Oregon wine industry and create a circular ecosystem for reusable bottles. Revino will reuse existing wine bottles as well as manufacture their own Revino bottle, then collect, wash, inspect and make the bottles available to wineries to use again and again (up to 25 times!) They’re not quite launched, but Keenan has all the facts, statistics and a very clear plan - they expect to be up and running in 2023. We’re excited to see an option for more Oregon wineries to adopt more sustainable packaging!

      Season 1 - Ep 1 - Intro to Winesplained

Joel and Adam lay the groundwork for Winesplained - exploring sustainability in the wine industry through the lens of Coopers Hall, an urban winery located in Portland, Oregon. Coopers Hall opened in 2014 as Oregon’s first keg-focused winery and continues to take a holistic approach to creating an ethical wine brand - from the farming practices and production, right to the packaging. There’s no lack of topics to explore in future episodes!
