Why has communism failed and didn't work?

Like you certainly, on the one hand communism fascinates me. But seeing all the examples where it has failed, I wonder if there would be any chance of it working, if it isn't always sabotaged by a big bad guy.

In this critical video, we address the inherent complexity of communism by comparing it to a group work. This analysis raises the crucial question of the control and force needed to make this system work, and thus naturally explains China's and North Korea's historical drift towards dictatorship.
