  • 113 - It's The Hope That Kills You
    Apr 24 2026

Brendon and Ronnie are catching up with several topics in sports this week. From the Stanley Cup playoffs starting to all of the transactions happening in the WNBA to the results of WrestleMania, the fellas are running the gamut. And, to commiserate with New York Mets fans, the fellas also remember hard times with their favorites teams in all sports. Along the way, the fellas express a love for jacaranda trees, wonder if Arsenal are collapsing (again), and marvel at George Kittle's ability to drink (and steal) beer. Brendon waxes poetic about the Spring season, recalls how he managed his ass off in a recent Little League game, and has a very hot take about a WNBA star. Ronnie reminds us all that Rupert Murdoch once owned the Dodgers, discovers something really cool about the outfield of Oracle Park, and makes a deep callback to the second ever episode of the podcast.

Brendon and Ronnie are gearing up for another WrestleMania weekend! They go down the card for each night and get pumped for each match. Before that, they warm up by talking through their feelings as the NBA and NHL each transition into their playoffs. Along the way, the fellas start with a completely de-railed tangent, indulge in the "Doom & Gloom" fandom that surrounds the Lakers, and explain the iconic Caddyshack scene between Bill Murray and Chevy Chase. Brendon briefly invites RFK Jr. onto the pod, points out that recent playoff pushes for teams in blue & orange haven't ended well, and helps explain what an Unsanctioned Match is. Ronnie recalls a classic Los Angeles bus stop ad, gets really tense during the NHL's playoff overtime, and thinks the women's division in WWE is creatively lost.

  • 111 - Absurd & Outstanding
    Apr 10 2026

Brendon and Ronnie find the absurd and outstanding in several topics from drama in the MLB already to Mom's spaghetti. The fellas figure out on-air the last time they played D&D, put some respect on the Ohio State Marching Band, and marvel at how Jo Adell saved an Angels win THREE TIMES! Brendon was ejected from a Little League Baseball game because of a bat, invites Ronnie to his cabin in the mountains to play Nintendo Wii, and is having a rough time with baseball at the moment. Ronnie went to a live wrestling show with burlesque between the matches, hates the final two minutes of basketball games, and asks Brendon to delve into the curious case of Giants manager Tony Vitello.

  • 110 - ABS A'Okay
    Apr 3 2026

Brendon and Ronnie are flipping the calendar from March to April by talking about everything from college basketball's Final Four to MLB's Opening Weekend. Along the way, the fellas ask if Jaden Ivey is OK, have positive thoughts about the introduction of ABS, and go through the 19-year history of the Giants's Opening Day Left Field Curse.. Brendon recommends everyone play more catch, tells an amazing story of a young ballplayer's journey after being hit by a pitch, and believes his longest disc throws may be behind him. Ronnie went to see the Savannah Bananas live, does a Way-Too-Early check-in on their fantasy team win totals, and hated the Netflix-ication of the Opening Day Game.

  • BONUS - Popcorn & Pop Flies: A League Of Their Own
    Apr 1 2026

Brendon and Ronnie are watching baseball movies over on the Why Yes, We're Friends Patreon. For the first month of Popcorn & Pop Flies, they took in a viewing of Penny Marshall's 1992 hit A League Of Their Own. Starring Geena Davis, Tom Hanks, Lori Petty, Madonna, Rosie O'Donnell, and so many amazing women smoothly running actual baseball drills for B-Roll. The fellas give the facts, their histories, and then a lengthy summary. (It wouldn't be a movie podcast if the episode wasn't longer than the actual film, right?)

  • 109 - 2 Fond 2 Expectancy of Spring
    Mar 27 2026

Brendon and Ronnie are ready for the marathon of the 162-game MLB season to get going! They pick a team from each league that the podcast will keep an eye on for the season and then pick the drinks for each new MLB manager as they walk into the Why Yes, We're Friends Bar. They even squeeze in some sumo wrestling. Along the way, the fellas get very nerdy in deciding HOW they'll pick their teams, make a new game from a previous episode's topic, and get all "Only 90s Kids will remember" by bringing up collect calling. Brendon showed up hungry to the episode and thinks Warren Schaeffer looks like a tobacco-chewing Calliou. Ronnie is going to a live Bananaball game and once received a free Adios MFer while sitting with his mother.

  • 108 - What Are We Doing?? What's Going On??
    Mar 20 2026

Brendon and Ronnie are fresh off the World Baseball Classic Final and saying goodbye to the tournament as a whole. Then, the two go through the results of the China Grand Prix in F1 before taking on the unenviable task of picking their winners for the March Madness Men's Basketball tournament. Along the way the fellas continue to pitch ideas to improve the WBC, break down the USA's performance, and admire a very good impression of Tucker Carlson. Brendon puts a name on Mark DeRosa's mental lapses during the WBC and tells the tale of his most memorable March Madness bracket. Ronnie recalls a family barbeque where Good Times star Jimmie Walker showed up and once thought that corn was involved with corned beef.

  • 107 - ... More Like Alonzo Understanding
    Mar 13 2026

Brendon and Ronnie prove again that there are no slow news weeks in sports. (And they recorded BEFORE the USA/Italy WBC shocker!) Join them as they sift through the results of F1's Australian Grand Prix, the NHL's trade deadline, the NFL's recent roster shake-ups, and World Baseball Classic's chaotic round robin. Along the way, the fellas give the Australia F1 track a nickname, go through the NFL's top earners, and wish the World Baseball Classic were a little longer. Brendon says "I told you so" about Mercedes' 2026 F1 cars, and makes a case for why Las Vegas might not adopt the A's as a hometown team. Ronnie reports why L.A. Kings mascot Bailey immediately had a problem with Artemi Panarin, and sees a shuffling of mediocre QBs among the NFL's mediocre teams on the horizon.
