      People with learning disabilities and autistic people are equal members of society and have a right to choose who governs our country. However, there are many barriers to people being truly involved in politics. My Vote My Voice campaign is aiming to tackle these barriers and ensure that voting is accessible for people with learning disabilities and autistic people.

      In this Wheel of Engagement Podcast episode members of Campaign 4 Change and Unity have invited a guest speaker, Dr Mark Brookes MBE, to discuss the campaign, the barriers that people might face and what changes they would make if they were prime minister.

      Often when supporting people with learning disabilities and / or autism, professionals and support teams focus on people's disabilities and things which people cannot do. We must remember that every person is good at something - a skill, a talent or a strength of character. People must be empowered in their strengths and talents and encouraged to use their strengths and talents in a meaningful way to them and the society at large.
