  • Why You Keep Fighting About Money (It's Not About Money)
    Oct 17 2026

Why do married couples keep having the same fights about money? What if the real problem isn't your finances, but the childhood trauma, learned behaviors, and emotional wounds you bring into your marriage?

In this episode of The Meaningful Marriage, we're getting vulnerable about a real money argument that exposed childhood money beliefs, shame, resentment, and the communication patterns that kept us stuck.

After 16 years together, we're learning that building a healthy marriage isn't about avoiding conflict. It's about understanding why you get triggered, recognizing your partner's emotional wounds, and learning how to repair disagreements instead of repeating them.

    What You'll Learn / Highlights

→ Discover how childhood experiences with money shape your financial mindset, emotional reactions, and marriage communication long into adulthood.

→ Understand the pursuer-versus-defender conflict cycle, why one partner may need space while the other demands answers, and how those different processing styles can escalate an argument.

→ Hear how shifting a financial conversation from shame and criticism to gratitude created a different starting point for discussing money together.

→ Learn why children notice more of your marriage conflicts than you realize, and how apologies, accountability, and healthy conflict resolution can help model better relationship behaviors.

→ We also share why we're evolving from The Weaponized Marriage into The Meaningful Marriage—and what it means to intentionally build a marriage with friendship, fun, purpose, and connection.

  • Are You Living Below the Line Without Realizing It?
    Sep 17 2026

What if the problems showing up in your marriage, parenting, money, anger, or relationships aren't really about what's happening today?

In this episode of the Weaponized Marriage Podcast, we explore what it means to live "above the line" instead of allowing fear, shame, guilt, scarcity, anger, and old emotional patterns to keep running your life. We talk about emotional healing, marriage, suppressed emotions, courage, forgiveness, parenting, financial scarcity, personal growth, faith, and what happens when you finally stop building your life from fear.

After a powerful couples weekend and a series of deeply personal experiences, we began recognizing how much of our lives had been fueled by emotions we hadn't fully confronted. Ryan shares what he's learning about releasing pressure, becoming more present, rediscovering play, and realizing he doesn't have to constantly produce to be enough. We also unpack how healing yourself can change your marriage, your relationship with your children, the way you make financial decisions, and ultimately the story your family carries forward.

If you've been repeating the same emotional patterns and wondering why nothing seems to change, this conversation is for you.

    Highlights:

→ You'll discover how fear, shame, guilt, and scarcity can influence your decisions without you realizing it.

→ We explore why suppressed sadness can sometimes show up as anger, especially inside relationships, and why blaming your spouse can prevent you from seeing what an emotional trigger may actually be revealing about you.

→ We also discuss the difference between creating from fear and creating from courage, including how years of defensive financial decisions can make it difficult to pursue abundance. You'll hear why emotional regulation in parents can influence the emotional environment children experience and why healing your own patterns may help rewrite the story passed through your family.

→ Finally, we explore the role of safety, belonging, acceptance, forgiveness, faith, connection, play, and honest self-reflection in emotional healing—and the simple question you can ask the next time an uncomfortable emotion shows up: What are you here to show me?

  • Stop Waiting for Someday: The Life Lesson We Needed
    Aug 20 2026

What if the thing your marriage needs most isn’t another strategy, another vacation, or another conversation, but simply more space to be together?

After traveling through Italy and Croatia for a wedding and anniversary trip, we came home thinking differently about marriage, health, success, goal setting, and the way we spend our time. Being removed from the normal demands of business, parenting, routines, and constant productivity gave us something we don’t always create enough of at home: stillness.

In this episode of The Weaponized Marriage Podcast, we unpack the biggest relationship lessons from our European trip, including why you shouldn’t keep postponing the experiences that matter, how prioritizing your health protects your future freedom, and what Croatian culture taught us about slowing down and actually enjoying your life.

We also talk about marriage therapy, personal growth, writing down relationship goals, practicing gratitude with your spouse, creating intentional connection, and learning to receive appreciation without immediately explaining, minimizing, or responding.

If you want a stronger marriage, deeper connection with your spouse, more intentional living, and a relationship that continues evolving instead of simply surviving your routine, this conversation is for you.

    Highlights:

→ You’ll hear why waiting until retirement, until you have more money, or until life becomes less busy can keep you from ever experiencing what matters most, and how health, time, and money change throughout different seasons of life.

→ We unpack the Croatian concept of fiacca, the practice of enjoying stillness without feeling guilty for being “unproductive,” and how building even 15 minutes of that space into your day can improve your relationship.

→ You’ll also hear how a journal entry written years earlier revealed the surprising power of putting marriage goals on paper—and how therapy, healing work, awareness, and intentional action helped turn many of those goals into reality.

→ Finally, we share a simple couples exercise for building appreciation and emotional safety: acknowledge something you appreciate about your partner, then practice letting them simply receive it without defending, explaining, minimizing, or immediately responding.
