Good evening. Washington. I'm Aaron Jolly. That steady rain you heard tapping on the roof overnight left about two-tenths of an inch in the gauge. Step outside now and you'll feel that familiar 46-degree chill, the kind that sticks to your jacket under stubborn gray skies. In the next 24 hours. Here's what's happening across the state. Puget Sound stays locked in the wet pattern today. You'll see rain arriving by late morning, really peaking right around 4 P.M. Highs crawl to about 50 degrees with light southeast winds. Tonight stays mild at 43 degrees as the showers continue. Down in the South Sound, a similar story unfolds. Your rain chances climb after 10 P.M. Tonight. Thursday brings likely rain with highs near 51 degrees. Watch for that southwest wind picking up to around 12 miles an hour. Head east over the Cascades and the whole picture changes. Eastern Washington sees partly sunny skies Thursday with highs reaching 51 degrees. Dress warmly early though — that morning starts at 34 degrees, feeling like 29 with the wind chill. In Travelers take note, a Winter Weather Advisory is active for the mountains until 10 A.M. Thursday. Seven to nine inches of snow could pile up above 3,500 feet. Expect winter driving conditions at Stevens Pass and White Pass. Looking ahead, the wet pattern holds through the weekend. Highs climb into the mid-50s by Saturday. But Sunday into Monday brings a shift. Colder air drops snow levels to pass level. A rain-snow mix even reaches some lowland areas early next week. Tonight's full moon won't have much to shine on with all these clouds. But we're gaining over three minutes of daylight each day now. Spring equinox sits just two weeks away.
